OME condemns the heinous crime committed by the Palestinian Authorities against the opposition activist Nizar Banat; and is concerned about their continuing violation for human rights; especially after they were accused of the assassination of the activist Banat.
Therefore, the organization condemns in the strongest terms the Palestinian Authorities’ arrest of the activist Banat and then subjecting him to torture, that led to his death.
Furthermore, We called on the Palestinian authorities to conduct a criminal investigation into this crime; to reveal the truth; and to hold the perpetrators accountable.
Finally, OME concluded the statement by saying; “The Palestinian Authorities must respect human rights, stop the crimes against opposition political activists, and release all prisoners of conscience.”
